Google will measure electricity with its latest innovation: Google Power Meter

Now days Google's Engineer are busy, but not in Programming. They are busy in measuring electricity consumption at their home and finding the ways to reduce this consumption with their latest innovation- The Google Power Meter.

The Google Power Meter is tool or a gadget which shows the consumption of electricity at your home by using the smart meter at our home. Currently the tool is in beta mode and the testing is limited only to the limited number of customers of the Partners of the Google in this project. Reliance Energy is the only Indian company who is Utility partner with Google. Good to see two giants from different countries are together in a noble  project.

To enable the gadget of Power Meter you have buy a Google PowerMeter enabled in-home energy monitoring device and configure it with your account. The Gadget of Power Meter when added to your iGoogle page shows  a graph of usage of electricity for day,  week or month. The gadget gives you the values of measure of electricity in KW and gives you valuable comparisons.

As I mentioned above, Reliance Energy is the only Indian company which is the utility partner with Google Power Meter. Reliance is providing the electricity only to the metro city like Delhi, Mumbai.. So the taste of this free Google product will be permanently limited to limited number of users as the major electricity providers are not associated in this project( I am doubtful if they know this innovation) .

A country where akoda system( putting a cable on the supply lines) is used without any fear and most of the electric measuring devices are stopped, will have to dream for this gadget and will have to satisfy with the screen shots of the tool.  Interestingly, a country where load shedding is the main issue, who will mind about such innovations there...

Wishing for seperate meta tags for each post in Blogger

Yes! I am now days I am searching for the techniques for entering separate meta  tags for each post in Blogger and I am amazed that there is a technique which gives way to have separate meta tags for each blogger post.

First of all lets discuss why do we need separate meta tags. If you are using Google's Webmaster tool you must be knowing the HTML suggestions link under Diagnostics tab. When I clicked the link I got some interesting result about my blog..Here I am attaching a screen shot...

The number 28 is the number of duplicate meta tags that the crawler has found on those pages. The pages  are blog post and the meta tags that are duplicated are I have entered from edit HTML option. Each post that is showing have these meta tags. Here the need of having the separate meta tags arises and something that Google has forget. I search on the whole Blogger forum and their articles I don't found any techniques. The Webmaster is showing suggestion and we don't have a valid option for this suggestion. So to find the solution on the suggestive problem by Google I asked Google( searched on Google) and I got the following technique.

You have to enter the above code for each post after the highlighted line and enter the URL of the post and the related keyword of the post. Means you have to enter each time the above mentioned code for every post you publish. If you have 100+ post then half of the source code will have been filled with the meta tags. Don't you think that unusual. The conclusion of the post is that I didn't enter the above mentioned code in the source code for this post and I am still searching for some valid technique...Do let me know if you have any....Happy posting. :-)

Submittng RSS as a sitemap in blogger

This is the feature that most of the SEO people ask each other. How can we submit a sitemap through Google's Webmaster tool. I was too annoyed in searching option for submitting a sitemap for a blog hosted on Blogger.

A sitemap is the feature which tells search engine what are the pages that websites. It enables crawler to jump from link to other link which without sitemap may not be discover by crawler.  Sitemaps are generally written in XML( Extensible markup Language). A language which is used for storing text information in a structured manner.

RSS( Really Simple Syndication) is a feed format used to publish frequently updated  information. Whatever the new information created can reach to the people who subscribe to that RSS. It is most commonly used for blogs. RSS also is written using XML language. And this is the reason why RSS is also accepted in Webmaster as a replacement sitemap.

To accomplish this:
  • Log into your webmaster account and select the site of which sitemap you want to submit
  • Under Your site on the web select Subscriber stats
  • Now under Submit feed as a Sitemap click Yes Please
Your Sitemap will be approved in few hours and all the URLs will be submitted from RSS.

The MRSS feed is the Media RSS feed for publishing media like audio, video and images developed by Yahoo.
